13 months (and growing)
This month you have really self-transitioned from a baby to a toddler. You are talking up a storm, with new words every week. You are able to communicate with us what you want as well. You have also lost a majority of your interest in your bottle. You now call your sippy your ba-ba and push away the real bottle. I am not sure I am ready for you to be so big, so fast, but you are quickly transitioning on your own.
You continue to be the happiest little girl. You are always smiling or crawling on top of us to play while jibber-jabbing about something. Your love for books continues to grow. You crawl to the cabinet, grab a book and bring it to us saying "book." You love your little chair. You sometimes "read" your own books and sing songs to yourself while sitting it in.
At your First Birthday, I thought for sure you had figured out the walking thing and assumed you would be running soon. Instead this past month you have perfected the "fast-walk" on your knees. You are perfectly content with this and so am I. You also CAN walk, and do it quite often without a hesitation. You pop right up out of your chair and walk to get your toys. You bend down and pick them up and then crawl quickly back to your chair. You have a look of pure satisfaction and self sufficiency when you return.
This month you have also started to potty train at daycare! Crazy right?? You do not like your diaper being changed at all and say pee pee everything we go to change you. You love the potty and so does Miss Sharon, so we are giving it an early try.
You have 3 new favorites this month. Your baby doll (which now only has one arm and is naked) and two blankets. Every night when we get home you get your baby doll and snuggle her. You rock her in your chair, sing her a song and give her lots of kisses. It is adorable.
The other favorite is your two blankets. You have one that is pint sized that Daddy's friend Courtney gave you when you were born, and "Hedgehog," the green blanket that Aunt Mandy's mom gave you. When daddy gets you from your crib each morning, you hand him the blankets first, before he can pick you up. You hold them against your face and suck your fingers each night before bed.
The funniest thing you have discovered is flatulence. Anytime you toot, you think it is the funniest thing in the world, and so do we. You sometimes surprise yourself when passing gas and will immediately hold your crotch and laugh hysterically. I don't know where it came from, but it is sure cute!
The best part about month 13 is how infectious your love and joy has become to everyone around! You are always kissing, hugging, chattering noises, blowing kisses and laughing to entertain everyone. You are truly a sweetheart....my little growing "toddler."
