21 Months Old
This month you have really transition from being a little
baby to a full blown toddler. I still try to make you snuggle with me in the
morning and evening when you drink your milk, but for the most part when I ask
for kisses or hugs, you would rather not give them. I continue to bribe you to
give kisses and hugs in order to get things. So far it has proved to be beneficial
to both parties.
This summer you we have taken many trips to the pool. This
last week you decided that you were big enough to jump off of the side. Even
though you like to hold our hand and “walk” of the side, you give it a good
countdown and say 1,2,3…JUMP and throw yourself into our arms. You have gotten
more and more brave as I slowly let your head go under a little more each time.
You don’t seem to mind unless I do it every time...then you are DONE. You also
have really started to enjoy swimming with your puddle jumper life jacket. It
has given you the ability to be more mobile and less scared in the pool. You
will kick your legs and wiggle your arms to move around. You also like to float
on your back when daddy and I are around to help you. You really like to use
the water guns. Even though most of them are too hard for you to use, you scream
with happiness when we squirt you or help you squirt one another.
Your words are really starting to flow this month and you
are able to easily put 2 and 3 word sentences together. My favorite is "Thank you, momma," or "Mommy
sit, play" or "Mommy color, please." You love to spend time with me and you love to
play. This week you also mastered, "I LOVE YOU, MOMMA." My heart melted!!! You also like to answer all the daily questions that I have for you.
Today I asked you if you had a good day at Mrs Sharons and you said, ‘YEP”! I
asked if you went outside to play and you said “JUMP with Mone”. (Meaning you
got to jump on the trampoline with Simone) Sometimes it catches me off guard
how big you have become. You also told me when we were in the drive through the
other night that you wanted Chicken Nuggets, Ketchup and Ice Cream for dinner.
I couldn’t help but be proud of you and give you what you wanted. Even though
you ate my food instead and I ended up with the nuggets and ice cream.
This month you have really enjoyed your bigger puzzles and
coloring. You color a few new picture each day and it never gets old. You
really love you jumbo sized crayons….or WOW crayons as you call them that your
Mimi bought you. You wake up in the morning asking to color as well. When you
are finished coloring you like to individually put the colors and the pages
back into the drawer as you sing the song “peeekkkupppp, peeeekkkkup.”
You are such a good helper and love to help pick up when you
are do with a task. You love to build with your big girl Legos and then
individually break each of them off the tower and put them back into the bag.
The bag has a zipper on it and you have also learned how to zip and unzip the
zipper this month.
You also have been continuing to transition to the big girl potty completely. It is not 100% yet, but you're working hard at it. Most days you come home with they same clothes you went to daycare in, which means you are still wearing your big girl panties!
