Milestone | Two Years
My big girl is 2! It's hard to know where to start. You are talking up a storm. You can say 3-4 words in a row and unless you are whining, I can normally understand everything you say.
Yes, the tantrums have begun, but normally you are able to dry your tears and move on within a few minutes. We are all learning patience while we work through this new phase of independence.
Your love for puzzles continues to grow. You can whip together 24 piece board puzzles in a few minutes and you absolutely love your 48 piece jumbo Mickey Mouse puzzle cousins George and Raleigh gave you for your birthday.
You are still very busy. At night while I am in the kitchen, we sing and dance to music together to try and wear you out. This also includes running/dancing circles around the kitchen island at least 15 times in a row. We love to gallop to Yankee Doodle, jump up and down to Wheels on the Bus, twirl around to Ring Around the Rosy, and act out I'm a little teapot. The further I get into this pregnancy with your brother, the more tired I become and the more stamina you seem to build. You are always saying "chase me momma, chase me!" I am sometimes relieved when you ask me to sit down, so we can change gears and I can rest.
Your are finally showing interest in books! We receive some new ones for your birthday and you want me to read them to you! Before you were so busy, I couldn't seem to keep your attention let alone get you to sit still! Now you bring them to me and get upset when we have to call it a night. The Llama, Llama and the 5 Little Monkey books are your favorite. But you really don't discriminate anymore. You just want to read MORE! It makes me so happy!
I also believe you have some sort of momma/new baby intuition. You want me aaaalllllll the time. I knew you love your daddy, but you have become my little leech. You sometimes have melt downs and stand in front of me so I can't walk forward, saying "momma, hold me, momma, hold me," with your arms stretched towards me. As your little brother continues to grow, my ability to hold you gets harder and harder....but somehow those big blue eyes always get you into my arms.
You also love to give your baby brother sips of your milk and lots of kisses. You think he can drink from my belly button and that you can tickle him by putting your finger in my belly button. :)
Your daddy loves to tickle you and you love for him to do it. Almost daily you get held down and tickled. The sound of your sweet little giggles melts my heart. In between gasps for air you say, "daddy, top it...daddddyyy, top it!" He started a new game with you telling you he will stop when you say all of your uncles names. I think this is a tradition that he started with all of your cousins and now you are the lucky one that has to say them! Good thing he shows a little mercy on you!
