Hadley turns 2 | Minnie Themed Princess Party

Wow! I have been planning the perfect Minnie Mouse birthday party for you for sometime now. Ever since you saw Aunt Sarah get a cake for her birthday you have been obsessed and waiting patiently for your day to come. Whenever anyone ask you what you want you would loudly reply, "cakkkkkee." A few weeks back I orders a cake from one of the ladies who lives locally. The evening before your birthday she delivered it to the house. You ran to the door and got so excited when she brought it inside. You said, "Hadley's?...Minnie cake?" Once we established it was for your birthday the next day, you were frantically crawling up the side of me to get a closer look. You sat at the table, eyes glistening, and just admired it. I've never seen a little kid be so happy and excited in my life...and to contain it, with the understanding you couldn't have it until tomorrow. I was so relived and proud of your mature reaction.

I woke you up from your bed the morning of your birthday singing you happy birthday. With a big smile on your face you hugged me and gave me snuggles. For breakfast you asked for pancakes so I whipped some up. I also put a few special chocolate chips and a candle on the stack so we could sing to you again.  It only seemed like the right thing to do.

Papaw Bahr and Uncle Ben were there to help sing. Your eyes were big and I could tell your heart was full of happiness while you blew them out.

The afternoon of your party we had about 40 friends and family come through the house (the majority of them being under 5 years old) to celebrate YOU! Once the cake came out you were so excited. And like you have practiced over and over while playing pretend, for at least 2 months, it was time for everyone to sing YOU the birthday song. You waited until the last word was sang and like you were a pro...you blew out your candles without being promoted to do so.

I think it is an understatement to say you are blessed. God has truly given us many more blessings than we deserve. I am excited to see what he has in store for your next 100 years! I love you Hadley Elizabeth, my big 2 year old!
