1st Vacation | Ft. Myers, FL
What a great week of first time adventures! This week the entire Jenkins Family loaded up and headed to Ft Myers, Florida for the week.
I was a little bit nervous how you would handle the plane ride, but like always, you were a champ! On the way up your aunt Sarah and I quickly fed you fruit snacks and apple juice (your 2 favorite treats) to help keep your ears clear. While in flight we opened the big backpack of new toys to keep you occupied. You loved playing with your babies, new foam puzzles and watching the clouds out the window. The seats had enough compartments, buckles and tables to keep you busy the whole flight.
Once we all settled into our beach house, we were finally able to take in the ocean. The beach was beautiful. Not only did you conquer your first plane ride, but you also conquered your first dip the ocean! You were very excited to see the water and play in it. You keep calling it a ppppoooool. You loved the water but absolutely hated the sand! We even had to buy you a pair of water shoes to make the week more comfortable since you hated it so much! You freaked out each time it was on your feet, in your shoes or on your hands. By the end of the week you had your daddy and I holding your feet and constantly rinsing you off. Most of your days in the ocean were actually spent with you playing by the waters edge dumping and carrying buckets of water around, or out in the ocean jumping and splashing each wave.
Our pool at the beach house was also perfect. When we had enough of the beach, we would go back to the house where you would nap, have lunch and then take a dip in the pool and play in the outdoor shower. You loved to be where Ava was and experience all new adventures together. Everyday you wanted to know where she was and what she was doing. Whenever she was eating, you wanted to eat the same thing. When she was playing you wanted the same toys. It was very cute. One thing that I thought was very strange, was that you loved to play in the pack-n-play with her. You loved dancing, jumping and giggling with her in it. You girls played in it all week.
A couple days we took trips over to Sanibel Island to explore. They had amazing shelling beaches and big waves. You helped us search for conch shells, sea fans, sea stars and sand dollars. Although you weren't too impressed to touch them you did try to eat a few shells.
We had such an amazing time on the beach relaxing. I cannot wait to go back!
